Support from Condor

As we get closer to the NatWest International Island Games, the logistical planning for moving people and freight to the island is increasing. From people arriving to participate and spectate, through to the import of bicycles, golf clubs, firearms, barriers and many other items… the list is endless.

The organising committee has been working closely with a number of transport providers, the sports and the member islands.

Julia Bowditch, Games Director said ‘The planning of getting people and items to the Island has been one of our biggest challenges. We have participants arriving from far and wide, and they need to bring a lot of equipment with them. Condor have provided highly discounted rates for travelling teams and their freight, and we are very grateful to them for their support.’

Steve Champion-Smith, Condor’s Freight Director and Logistics Director for the Games said ‘As a business we have been serving the Island communities for over 70 years, so we are very proud to be playing our part in this years’ Island Games. The sheer scale of the process of booking teams, filling in documentation and moving large groups of competitors with their bespoke equipment is a significant piece of work and our experienced Freight Team has been heavily involved in making that happen.’
