Friday Events and Closing Ceremony

In line with previous Games, the closing ceremony at Footes Lane on Friday evening will be much more low-key and brief than the opening ceremony. At 8pm, there will be a procession by the athletes, followed by the handover to Orkney 2025. The after-event is for athletes and volunteers with an accreditation pass.

Friday is still chock-full of action though! From the football finals at Footes Lane to the brand new Triathlon relay event along the Town seafront, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

From 6.55am - Golf finals

9.00am - Half marathon - Town seafront

From 9.00am - Basketball finals

From 9.00am - Shooting finals

From 9.00am - Table Tennis finals

From 9.00am - Tennis finals

From 10.00am - Badminton finals

11.00am and 3.30pm - Football finals

12.45pm - Individual cycling criteriums - Town seafront

4.00pm - Triathlon relay - Town seafront

As part of the proceedings for Finale Friday, a bus shuttle service for accredited athletes will run from the Liberation Monument to Footes Lane from 9am-7pm.

If you are at Footes Lane, there will also be a number of catering units near the hockey club from 12-4pm and from 6.30pm.
