Activities on St Peter Port Seafront will extend from the Weighbridge roundabout to La Vallette

On Saturday 8 July the Opening Ceremony will take place after 6pm with a parade from North Beach Car Park to Albert Pier. Entertainment will be starting from 5pm and spectators are encouraged to come along from then and cheer on the teams. North Beach car park will be partly closed on Friday 7 July and fully closed from 12 noon on Saturday 8 July. The seafront will be closed from Weighbridge to Albert Pier from 4pm to 9pm.

On Friday 14 July the half marathon, cycling criterium and triathlon relay events will be held along the seafront Parking will be suspended at La Vallette, the South Esplanade, the Castle Emplacement, Albert Pier, Crown Pier, Church Square, Le Petit Carrefour, La Tourgand and the Lower Pollet. In addition, the first few rows of the North Beach car park will also be suspended for the bus terminus to be temporarily relocated.

‘Park and stride’ points will be at Beau Sejour, Ladies’ College and the field at the top of Val des Terres, plus Charles Frossard House for the Opening Ceremony only.

Guernsey Buses regular services will be free during the games, making transport easier for islanders and visitors, starting the day before the games on Friday 7th July, and continuing until the end of the games on Friday 14th July.

Although we do not have an Uber service in Guernsey, you can hail taxis on both Android and iPhone using the States of Guernsey new Taxi App which has been launched in time for the Games.

The app provides ad on-demand sevice. Pre-booking a taxi in advance will still need to be done by contacting taxi companies directly. The app will provide an estimated fare for the journey, however, the fare will be taken from the in-vehicle taxi meter and paid directly to the driver.

Vehicle access and parking will be restricted on 8th July and 14th July so walk into Town if you can.
